atw: Re: Un PC language?

People from the sub continent are thick-skinned and have a great sense
of humour as a culture. They are used to taking pot shots at people and
love (like Aussies) to take the p#$$ out of things. So relax about it
for now. Go and tell your manager directly and explain that you will
send an apology to everyone in the meeting as well as to your manager. I
bet she will say something along the lines of it is unnecessary.

HOWEVER.

Even if she does say don't worry, you should apologise to all the staff
present in the meeting as well as the person it was aimed at. You may
not offend the manager but you are more than likely to have offended
someone in the meeting.

Make it public.
Make it soon.
And keep your nose clean...

Take care Tony and remember; Westies appreciates deconstructionist
pre-post modern Australian vernacular aimed at true enlightenment of
spirit.

Warren (guilty of more verbal infarctions than he cares to remember)

How would we know whether you were being racist or sexist at the time?

Search your heart, Tony.

If the racism/sexism issue complicates things too much, just ponder
whether you might have been unfair or unprofessional. If you think that
it might have been, consider apologising to the lady. That's the
time-honoured way of putting things right when you feel you've done
wrong.

If you check your conscience and it comes up clean, then no action
required.

Stuart
