Worse than you might think. I figured it was unlikely that the victim had been killed twice, but possible that the police person had been involved in two killings. Answer: neither.

The article compares two events where a death was caused by different weapons, one in the CBD and one in Paramatta, involving completely different people, under different behavioural circumstances, with one incident indoors and one outdoors. Apart from that, they were very similar.

I dropped a line to Mediawatch yesterday morning... but I imagine they get "piano for a lady with wooden legs" references all the time.

I wonder... was the man ranting about a claim to divinity? Was there three days between the killings?

Hi austechies

Here is a direct quote of the very first sentence in the lead story on the front page of The Sydney Morning Herald of Monday 26 March 2012:

$B!H(JA police critical incident investigation was under way last night after a man was killed by an officer for the second time in a week.$B!I(J

Whatever do they teach at journalism school these days.
