I don't think I'd agree there. Depends on the area, but living in a house 10-15 minutes from the city costs around $300 in Brissie, and about $500 (from memory) in Sydney. Of course it depends whether we're comparing houses (usually a lot more expensive in high-density cities) or units (can appear to be similar cost from city to city... but the number of units in the complex may differ wildly... and usually a unit in a smaller block will be worth more (less noise etc).
