atw: Re: Techwriter Wages

A few corrections here.  Brisbane is as expensive or more expensive to live
that other major capitals.  Compare rents and house prices on domain.com to
get a comparison.  Melbourne prices are lower.

And from my experience, contractor rates are entirely comparable.  But it is
the same here as everywhere - there are some cheapskates who try to get away
with paying less, and sometimes succeed.  However, those jobs are often
advertised for months to get takers.  I have noticed that recruiters only
post the rates that they know are too low - so they don't waste their time
with applicants who won't work for those rates.  They don't seem to post
good rates.

I would suggest that there would be pretty much parity in rates - or should
be.
