atw: Re: Techwriter Wages

Dunno about Brisbane personally, Naomi (K).

But you might care to check out the STC Aussie Chapter national salary
surveys at <http://www.stc-aus.org.au/surveys.htm> for some guidance.

Cost of living / housing can be much lower there so salaries are usually
significantly less than in Sydney and Melbourne.

Ah Queensland: beautiful one day ... underpaid the next ;-)

HTH.

Hi guys n gals,

Long time, eh? Freelists keeps booting me... or something. I've re-subscribed to this list at least ten times, and the last time I was booted I didn't notice for months... whoops. Blame my stress levels, not the forgetability of y'all.

Anyway, a question... any idea where someone would be doing their research if they came up with a figure of 50-52K/year as an average salary for a tech writer in Brissie with more than 4 years experience? Our HR person claimed to be flabbergasted at the salary offers I've seen floating around in the last few months...
