There have been some very nice little USB port SD and HD digital TV 
tuners around for a while now that should work with your laptop for 
this purpose. Even Aldi supermarkets sold an HD one of their own 
brand (Tevion) very cheaply a few months back.

If you go the Web site for a store chain such as MSY computing, you 
can download the PDF of their latest parts price list for such 
goodies, as I just did to check for you from 
http://www.msy.com.au/Parts/msy.htm

For example, you could get an Asus U3000 USB Digital TV tuner for $35 bucks!

Then "Plug and Pray" the WinDoze way!
