I concur..........AVG is absolutely problem free (and, actually, free, with 
regular courtesy updates from the internet).   It does spot the odd virus.

I only ever got one virus, and that was at the PC repairer's shop.   They 
must have played around a bit.

Since then I have successfully used AVG.

AVG seem to have a firewall too, so, (having dispensed with the tyrannous 
SNorton),  I am tossing up between installing that, or Sygate, recommended 
by the illustrious MR Granat.
