Hi Christine,
I'm using Windows XP SP2.
But according to
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Editors/Paint-NE
T.shtml (where you can get the download from) you need the following:
* .NET Framework 2.0
* 500 MHz processor (Recommended: 800 MHz or faster)
* 256 MB of RAM (Recommended: 512 MB or more)
* 1024 x 768 screen resolution
* 200+ MB hard drive space
* 64-bit support requires a 64-bit CPU that is running a 64-bit version
of Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2003, and an additional
128 MB of RAM
Good luck.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hi Bruce
What operating system are you running Paint.net on? I am trying to work
out if I am game to download it onto Windows Vista. Graphics is the
big weakness with vista and can blow all sorts of things away.

Hi Gang,
Just to follow up on the outcome of my SnagIt problem from last week,
there were many fine suggestions and advice on the different software
currently available, and I would like to thank those who responded both
on and off the list.
So far there has been no absolute 'solution' as such, but it seems that
the actual problem is caused by having Photoshop 7 installed when I
upgraded SnagIt and FM.
For some reason Photoshop was hijacking the icons but this only
materialised after SnagIt was installed and used. As such, I ass-u-me
the problem will disappear if I also upgrade Photoshop.
I have now removed Photoshop 7 and I have not had a problem. I am
currently using Paint.net to manipulate my images and while basic
(certainly compared to Photoshop) it will do for the nonce.
Again, thanks for the assistance everyone.
No-one from 'official' channels have been able to help as yet.
Cheers,
Bruce
