It's not so much that I seek data, research and findings, it's rather that I 
feel uncomfortable taking any notice at all of a bunch of, basically, case 
studies with a population sample of one. If there were some way of casting 
these opinions into hypotheses that could be generated, piloted, tested and 
generalised, I might be happier. But many of these opinions come with a 
not-so-hidden agenda of' 'this is the word of god and I'm sticking to it and if 
you criticise my pet notion then you are criticising me'.
