A colleague of mine produced some flyers like this, with coloured borders.
His approach was to print it on larger size paper then trim off the white
round the edge.
Of course then you have to set it up so the white parts to be trimmed off
on both sides of the paper are exactly matched up.
A low-tech approach, but I can't suggest any other!

atw: Setting a coloured border in a flyer [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
Hi guys,
I am writing a number of targeted messages to be produced as flyers.
These messages are aimed to communicate information about the progress
of a particular project and will be updated every few days with new
information. The messages will be posted in both electronic format (on
electronic boards) and in hard copy (on notice boards) in different
locations in the business. The messages are a combination of text and
graphics and I am creating the content in MS Visio and then converting
them to gif format.
I would like each message to display with a coloured border around it
(right up to the edges), making them look more professional and stand
out more on a notice board. I need some suggestions on how to best
achieve this. I added a border to my Visio screens, but when I print
them I still get a white print border outside my coloured border. There
does not seem to be a way to get rid of this print border in Visio. The
same white border displays when I print the gif. I tried pasting the
graphic into Word and set the borders to zero, but this did not work
either.
Any ideas would be welcome.
all the best
Ilana
