atw: Re: Setting a coloured border in a flyer

Dear Ilana (C)

Don't worry about having a border on your
Visio graphic.

Create a singe cell table in Word, with the
borders as you like (blue, whatever thickness and style) Insert >
Picture > From File...

Your GIF automatically sizes to fit
the proportions of the table cell.

Save, then print to and
distribute with PDF, using ZIP compression for lossless graphics.

Job done.

You could also do a page border in Word if you
prefer, rather than having any border around the single cell table.

For jobs like this though, you should really use an object
oriented desktop publishing package (PageMaker / Indesign / Quack Xcess,
whatever) that can print with trim marks and colour-correct.

Remember Word (the name is a bit of a giveaway here) is a page /
paragraph oriented word processor.  Great for creating documentation,
relatively cr@p for doing all but the most basic
advertising flyers.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Michael Granat
