atw: Re: STC Publications Competition 2008-2009

Hi Monica,
Thanks for the info - I'll read it on the weekend. It is timely to hear from you as I'll be back on the market next week - if you know of anything. Adriano went off to Brisbane some weeks ago and Mark rang to offer me his position so I will get in touch with him!!! How's it going with you?
Elaine

Society for Technical communication australia chapter

STC Publications Competition 2008-2009

What is the STC Competition?

The STC competition recognises individuals and groups for excellence in technical communication based on entries in 3 categories. The competition is a great way to get feed-back on your work from an expert judging panel of technical communication peers.

STC competitions are held regionally and internationally.

STC Australia is hosting competitions in 3 categories:

Technical publications
Technical art
Online communication

Entries of an appropriate standard are entered in the STC International Competition, and Australian entries have won awards in this competition in past years. In last year’s competition, ASIC received a distinguished award for one entry and an excellence award for the other.

Each entrant receives a comprehensive judgement, and justification for the award level, from each of the 3 judges on the category panel.

Awards

Best of Show awarded to one entry in each competition category
Distinguished Technical Communication (DTC)
Excellence
Merit

Winners of the Distinguished and Best of Show award qualify for the international STC competition.

The STC Australia Chapter will pay the entry fee and postage for the winners of the Distinguished and Best of Show awards who want to enter the international STC competition.

In recognition of her service to the STC, the Australia Chapter has established the Jill Nicholson Award to be awarded to the winner/outstanding entry in the Australian competition. The award is a $100 AUD voucher from Amazon.

In order to take advantage of the benefits of this competition, please prepare now to submit an entry.
