atw: Re: SEC: UNCLASS Re: Mondegreens

Denis Norden and Frank Muir participated in "My Word" with Dilys Powell and
another woman whose name I have temporarily mislaid (on a couple of
programs, Lady Antonia Fraser, the historian), and Jack Longden presiding.
A highlight of the show was the long and rambling explanations by Frank and
Denis of how particular aphorisms came about. Of course, the aphorisms
were mondegreened, for example, given "A rolling stone gathers no moss" by
Longden, Frank might transmogrify it into an explanation of "A bowling
crone scatters my mops". You can still hear it on Radio National (621 on
the dial) at 5:30, along with The Goons, My Music, I'm Sorry I'll Read That
Again (Cleese) and other well-loved shows.
