Thank you very much, Ana. That's the kind of information I need and I
appreciate your spending the time to put it down for me.

Hi,
If you are a user of RoboHelp, Flare is very similar.
I got Flare at the end of January, had to be actively
involved in a three week training session in February,
and managed to release three of my online help files
of which one is very big before the end of February.
The conversion of a RoboHelp project to a Flare
project is very easy. After that, I had to update the
content of some topics and add new ones and did so
with my RoboHelp knowledge. All topics, links, and
header and footers came through with no problems. And
that is without no templates - I am still trying to
find the time to develop a 'proper' template.
Even though I have had no time to really understand
Flare, I find it very easy to use and much more
flexible. The fact that you can have more than one TOC
in a project is excellent. The developers of Flare
(all ex developers of RoboHelp) claim that they put in
Flare all the things that the RoboHelp customers
wanted and never got.
And the support is excellent - so far I have had a
response overnight every time.
The only draw back is the number of folders / files
that Flare produces when compiling the CHM. But I can
leave with that so, for me, that is not a problem.
I have not yet attempted to create a printed version
of my project. I will only do that when I manage to
have the time to develop a good template (and I have
no idea whan that will be).
Hope this helps. Regards,
Ana
