atw: Re: Recruitment agency seeking clients?

We need to establish ........ whether there actually are any large
recruitment companies trading while insolvent, and get this one nipped in
the bud fairly promptly. I have requested that Daryl let me know the
substance of this rumour, if he can, ASAP.
Presume he is not talking about management companies but the Recruitment
Cos. What state? Ar they multi nationals?
Does anyone know anything?

Sound like they are just trawling for names in a very questionable way.

Unless 'Macro' Recruiting/Darryl Keeling gives director's guarantees on the
wages THEY pay, I'd suggest the risk was just as great using them as anyone
else.

As to his claim;

"Not to(o) sure if you are aware, but recently several large recruitment
companies have been hit by cashflow issues, meaning that they cannot pay
their temps or contractors, or even their own staff. Some have not been paid
since early December."

I'd like to see Darryl Keeling provide the evidence rather than just make
such an apparently self-serving, unqualified statement. I'm not so confident
that he'd know the cashflow situation of the larger agencies.

His follow up statement, "We are in the process(/es) of signing on as many
stranded temps and contactors that we can find onto our books so they get
paid" is another nonsense statement. How can he make certain contractors get
paid any more than another agency can?

It's easy to make statements such as these without ever having to back them
up so contractors beware and cover yourself as best you can with this agency
(as with all others).

My 0.02

Bruce Ashley
