atw: Re: Product of choice

I'm sorry to say I hated WordPerfect 11. I think I gave it a fair
trial. There were a couple of features - such as vertical text in
tables - which were rather painful to use. And it crashed at strange
times, which probably didn't help my opinion much. Its PDF export was
nowhere near the quality of Distiller, and it repeatedly crashed WP when
I tried to save a large doc in PDF. In all fairness, I was pretty
tough, and my dislike was due to specific features we require which
didn't perform well. For others, with other requirements, it might be a
great answer. Depends on your needs!

I think I've said this before, but I put together a rough comparison of
Word 2000, OOo Writer 1.1.3, OOo Writer 2.0 beta and WP. It's very much
aimed at our specific requirements, so may be absolutely no use to
others, but is available if anyone wants a look. Might save you doing
some of your own comparison tests!
