Marcus
My advice from my accountant has always been that the tax office will see it
as simply a means of avoiding tax - the income of such a company is 100% a
result of your working hours with no real operational costs. Hence they
will deem it PAYG, add it to your other income, and you are no better off,
also leaving yourself open to further scrutiny.
Cheers
Carole

Subject: atw: Part-time contracting question
An opportunity has come up for me to teach part-time at TAFE for 2 hours =
per week while retaining my full-time PAYG job.=20
A colleague mentioned to me it's worth considering setting up a company =
name so that the TAFE income won't be taxed at the highest rate.
I'd like to hear your opinion if you think this is a worthwhile step or =
perhaps not given the low number of teaching hours.
Any pointers appreciated.
