Last Tuesday caught the excellent comedy on ABC called "Chaser's War on
Everything" (apparently they are getting big and are on the verge of
being poached by the commercial networks).
They did a Vox Pop skit on the streets approaching people with a map of
Australia and asking them if they would like to come and visit us to see
the Eiffel Tower. Three people actually believed him. Another
variation was the rock sculpture of the past US presidents. He managed
to convince some Americans that we had the original and theirs was the
copy.
But what really was insightful was their piece on a commercial news
network (local) who manage to graft two totally separate issues into the
one news story. It was a cracker, have never seen anything like it.
Totally disjointed and schizoid news reporting. Worth a watch. Did
anyone see this one and can relate one example - it's mind boggling what
they are trying to do to people's minds.

Ah, yes. The power of democracy. Never mind the facts; a sufficiently
large
number of the ignorant can always turn the tide.
I think that's why we've been stuck with John Howard for . . . what
seems
like forever!
