Jean Weber, where are you when we need you?
I was trying to finish an assignement and just wanted the Heading 1
paragraph style to have a chapter number.
So I got absolutely flummoxed between List 1 style, Numbering 1 style,
Outline Numbering, and the Format > Bullets and Numbering menu item.
The near useless help offers only reference information (I already had
an idea that the Bullets and Numbering dialogue was about, well, bullets
and numbering, thanks) but no procedures to show how to set up
numbering. Particularly, numbering to MY specifications -- no need for
ugly full stops, brackets, braces, etc. etc. [snip]

I find this feature totally confusing myself. Just
thought I'd mention that if Jean doesn't respond
right away, it isn't because she's ignoring you but
because she's recovering from elective surgery.
