Yes, I saw that too. It's good to have a bit of levity around this issue. 
I think I spend too much time muttering to myself about having to put two 
spaces after a full stop because it's policy here and no-one cares that a 
search on the web would quickly confirm that this is a rule from the 
typewriter era that should long have been abandoned.

My latest plan is to use this as a bargaining chip when I'm next asked to 
take on another : yes, I'll do that *provided* we can change that 
ridiculous rule about spaces after full stops...

what’s right is right and you are wrong. I declare it once and
for all aesthetically more appealing to have two spaces after
a period. If you refuse to alter your bullheadedness, I will
petition the commandant to allow me to take one Marine detail
to conquer your organization and impose my rule. Thou shalt
place two spaces after a period. Period. _Semper Fidelis_.

A. As a U.S. Marine, you’re probably an expert at something,
but I’m afraid it’s not this. _Status quo_.
