If they are shown how to put a half line space above a paragraph, some like
it and use it.


Another typewriter hangover is not using large fonts for headings.

I edited a manual written by a chap who had something like this

*heading 1 ... 12pt Times New Roman bold *

*heading 2 ... 12pt Times New Roman bold underlined *

*heading 3 ... 12pt Times New Roman underlined *

*heading 4 ... 12pt Times New Roman italics*
