Leaving bikes lying around that are old in various parts of the world is
very common. I have done it. Many cities in Europe and Asia have a =
culture
of this.=20
My racing bikes and commuting bikes, as well as the mountain bike =
however,
could never be left alone or very long.=20
In many parts of Sydney, it is now faster to travel by pushbike =
especially
in peak times.

Gee, I've never heard of problems with taxi-drivers (apart from them =
taking
you the long way round) and I find it rather alarming.
One of my flatmates amazes me by riding his bike to the airport - about =
a 20
min ride which is about the same as by car. He just went on a 3 week =
trip to
the UK. It took him about 15 minutes to throw a few clothes into a =
backpack,
he then set off on an old bike he doesn't really care about losing, =
parked
it at the airport and then hopped on it again on his way home.
Regards,
Petra
