Especially with those new viruses that are being designed to launch in
preview mode (using the Active-X controls on your PC).

Hey, don't kid yourself, Stuart (B).  I've never seen anyone (successfully)
argue that they would not ever need any protection on their PC before.

In my experience, absolutely everyone who has attempted this has come
unstuck big time and then has had to beg for help in recovering the
unrecoverable, losing huge chunks of irreplaceable work and
correspondence.

It's like having a toilet without a toilet brush.
(An oddly apt analogy for an MS P of C?)

Those nasties will build up eventually, no matter what you do.
