Rain induced hydro power?  Hah!

Nah. Why make our own when we're about to start importing that
from Tassie in a huge electric blanket under Bass Strait.

We'll be able to steam our fish as we catch them!
(Sort of state sponsored poaching.)

Down here, rain is what we use to turn what's left of our forests to
mush, which we then call "brown coal".

"The environmentally friendly fuel of the future!"

Take a lump of muddy, decomposed prehistoric forest.
Waste as much energy as possible:
* dredging it out of the ground.
* tumbling / washing off the latent grunge.
* heating the moisture out of it.
* pulverising it.
* burning it.

Net result?
About half the energy you put into it comes out of it.
Then it's mostly lost on the 200 kilometre trek to Melbourne.
The Borg method of power delivery: "Resistance is futile!"
With a "drip" of the energy put in, coming out of the "tap" at the
other end.

The Victorian energy motto?
"Global Warming. Reduces your heating bills."

Cheers,

M.

Ah. That explains it. Rain causes power!
Victoria has finally found a path to hydro electricity generation.
How is it done? With lots of tiny turbines, each waiting for a drop to
fall?

OBVIOUSLY, Michael, it's causing power, not power delays! :)
