Thunderbird is nice, but you can take some of the Appointments and 
Calendar stuff with you -- so while you don't miss them, you DO miss the=
 bugs 
and hacks and spam and viruses brought to you so proudly by Outlook.

Have a look at the early days of Barca, out now for about 6 months, but
holding nicely.  And not expensive, after your trial period runs out.
Calendar / Notes / Diary, with Task-handling and Planning etc..
