A very good point, indeed, Peter M.
One would have to convert from the Potsworth (Pw) scale to
the Cansworth (Cw) scale. Current over the counter
Cansworth (bought in personal bulk of slab or block) is
trading at approximately a dollar a can.
Therefore Cw = 33.3% Pw.
One recently discovered advantage of using the Pw / Cw rate
is that it differentiates between on site / client and home
based activity valuations.
You can (or pot) now also, quite privately, discuss wage
rates at a bar with mates, simply referring to how many "P"
one earns in a day, without giving the game away to
otherwise interested bystanders such as clients.
For example: Saying that one earns say, just over 173P a
day, makes bystanders imagine that you are simply an
impoverished British ex-pat scrounging for a drink, when
you are really dropping 520 bucks into the kitty.
The cruel side effect of this, however, is that those of
us who are divorced parents realize just how many pots we
lose to the CSA every day. My ex just does not deserve
that much fine draught beer! Especially when only the
foam on the side of the glass really ever benefits to
one's children!
A word of caution: If the above applies and your Pw or Cw
scale is based on lager, not draught beer, one could easily
become a Fosters parent. A fact that was not immediately
a-parent when these new income determination categories
were introduced.
Off to earn a few more P now.
HTH.
Cheers,
Michael
