True. I was thinking more in terms of resource usage, though that difference
too is not as great as I first thought.

Well, yes. But I'd rather support the standards, in the (probably vain) hope
that standards-compliant browsers will acquire sufficient market share to
overcome the design problems. I haven't done any web design work for a
while, but I never liked having to plot my way around the inconsistencies
between browsers.
