Gee Melanie (K)
I'm afraid that this one doesn't wash with me, either ;-)
In fact, it must be the towel that the female player threw in last
Saturday arvo, when the temperature hit 38.3 C on court and the stadium
roof had to be closed to turn on the aircon.
This was done in an effort to protect people from the scoring anomaly
that would have occurred, had the court temperature hit 40 C:
Player: "What's the temperature please, Mister Umpire?"
Umpire: "Forty, Love."
Keep that towel and have it laminated. It's a piece of history!
Cheers,
Michael Granat

Hi All
I love the way the english language can give a very different slant to
what was intended.
Here is an extract from the online newsletter for the Australian Open:
"Official Player Towel
Don't miss your chance to own an authentic Australian Open towel used
by all of the players at the Australian Open!"
Wouldn't it be awfully grubby!
