Which is why some of us find it difficult to treat the Macquarie with
respect and is why many still use the OED as their default dictionary.

New words (and phrases) from the latest version of the Macquarie
Dictionary.

Dunny Budgie - blowfly
Pash rash - the result of excessive kissing
cyberbludger - plays internet games on the bosses time
beer o'clock - any time you feel like a drink
Tampa -

       noun a Norwegian ship which in 2001 rescued 433
       asylum seekers from a sinking boat near Christmas
       Island; Australia refused permission for the ship
       to proceed into Australian waters.



Pacific Solution -

       noun the Australian government policy of the 1990s
       and 2000s of placing unauthorised asylum seekers
       in compounds on a number of small Pacific nations
       while awaiting assessment of their status: *Mr
       Ruddock says that does not mean the so-called
       "Pacific solution" has failed. --ABC NEWS, 2003



barbecue stopper - not explained in the article, and not found in the
online dictionary ?
dog whistling - a public statement designed for a particular group of
voters drawing no response from the rest.
cappuccino course - study that is lightweight, eg a degree in surfing
greenchip - environmentally sound company
hose rage - a result of water rationing
jolly bean - amphetamine pill
McMansion - a grand home with no individual character or charm
to google - to search on the internet
Weblish  -  an language-within-a-language used in chat rooms, email and
SMSs.

Enough cyberbludging ...
