I agree with Brian's last remark
and if I want people to remember something, I'll
have incomplete handouts that can only be completed from the
learners' own activities.
A handout is the way to go. It doesn't have to be a full article. But it
should include what they need to remember. You can always put it in a
table, sumamrise with bullet points or whatevever, but people have it to
prompt their memory. The shorter the better in many cases.
The tricky thing is do you give it before or after you speak?
