atw: Re: Monitoring emails

I must apologise to the list and especially to the poor soul I have
victimised with questionable use of language in a post. I have certainly got
a problem with the system administrators who proposed such an obviously poor
piece of software to catch questionable use of language. I mean, one word is
not nearly as offensive as a sentence denigrating the parentage of said
system administrators, or wishing terrible things like the fleas of a
thousand camels infesting somebodies nether regions. 
 
While we did get some humour out of it, I don't think it really edified
anyone, and in the end, the usage was probably a bit unnecessary.
 
I'm SORRY.

Weres make large financial deals by email - the email becomes a record of
transaction. All people who work for Weres know their emails in and out are
monitored - as are their phone calls. Weres did this before they joined GS
and I suppose became a mutinational.
There is an answer - don't work for them if you don't like it, but when a
long lucrative contract appears many peoples' ideals fly away.
I think monitoring and certainly archiving are common - one friend who is
often on the list has emails monitored and archived. 
Does your company threaten Michelle?

S*H*I*T  as many times as  you like - even if it does gum up with works for
the poor dear system administrator from said multinational corporation, who
does not seem to have worked out how to detect punctuated verboten words.

 

I was referring to the poor employee of said corporation being controlled -
not you!  Reminds me of the bad old days working for control freak companies
like Orica and Comalco - urghhhh.  Never again!  

 

Sitting half way up a mountain, surrounded by massive tree ferns and tall
dripping forests, listening to the dolorous hum of a million blow flies, and
occasionally ducking out of the way of a particularly frenetic one, tends to
change one's perspective somewhat.
