I always thought that eats, roots, shoots, and leaves was an old army joke.


Bob - you might be right, but based on the title of the book and her PR, it
would seem that Truss takes herself very seriously indeed.  Pity she doesn't
take punctuation of her own work just as seriously.  It's not much of an 'in
joke' if the punctuation errors are inadvertent.  Difficult to find the
satire or the irony.
