Thanks to all.
It might have seemed like a frivolous question, but my friend was
trying to write some software for cataloguing a movie collection
and everywhere he looked he got a different answer. Should he
invert the title or not? Is it called inversion or something
else? My library contains a good selection of style guides and
editing guides and they were not consistent.
As usual, Austechwriters was a wonderful resource. The bottom
line is that you will never please everybody. The only
consistency I found is that you don't invert prepositions, and we
already knew that.
Thanks, everyone!
Allan
