1) I wouldn't - that collection gets dynamically rebuilt on numerous occasions and I have seen the links fail to update. 2) You would need to process the document with VBA -----Original Message----- From: austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Daryl Colquhoun Sent: Wednesday, 16 February 2005 10:42 AM To: austechwriter list Subject: atw: Irregular Word cross reference behaviour Hi everyone -- I'm posting this for Janet Taylor who's having a problem accessing the list. Can anyone help with this please? I have a Word doc with lots of ordinary cross references to headings. (Cross reference inserted using Insert >Cross Reference to a Heading) I have bookmarks on all my headings. I highlight all of the heading before applying the bookmark. I want to link at all times to Word's bookmark on my headings not my own bookmarks. For example: link to my bookmark is like this { REF A12345 \h } Word's bookmark link is like this {REF _Ref95902590 \h } Removing my bookmarks is not an option. Can anyone suggest how I can force Word to use _its_ bookmarks and not mine? Any advice will be appreciated.
