Hmm, I don't think 'London to a brick' was the one I had in mind, though
I do remember it now you mention it. And it does contain the kind of
ridiculous juxtaposition I was thinking of. Maybe I was thinking of one
of Charles's suggestions - the one he alludes to euphemistically seems
close. I must be suffering the first stages of terminal memory loss.
