Well, yes and no, Dominic Lowe.
There might well be a boom boom but, should a black hole form within
the LHC, the sound waves would be sucked in before they could escape
its gravitational pull.
If a black hole forms in a Swiss forest, does it make a sound or,
like my hideous pun, are we all sucked in at once?
