I didn't interpret it as a warning against offensive language, I took it =
as a warning about the style in which the article is written. The site =
owner warns "you may find his conversation style disconcertingly =
'direct'".
The article did seem to be fairly humorous, in the Australian way of =
seeing things.
In my (limited) experience the Australian sense of humour can be =
baffling to Americans (and the rest of the world really).
I can imagine that some readers may not find statements like "The author =
gleefully notes at this point that the human race has enough =
intelligence to get itself into cauldrons of boiling water that it =
cannot climb out of" and "These objects are shrouded in misery and =
thwart most attempts to play with them" and "It is like when a spy is =
caught and the government disavows all knowledge of their actions" =
particularly funny. It may not be the sort of stuff you are expecting to =
read in a technical article.
I thought it was a great warning to have before the article. Basically =
tells people not to bother complaining and that Aussies will be Aussies =
:) Indicates that it will be an entertaining read, not just an =
educational one!

Hi All:
Took a look at the MVP Word site after a lapse of many months and found =
Mr =3D
Hudson's tract on task panes. What I found quite astonishing was the =

y preamble by the site owner, in effect warning against offensive =

Having glanced through this quite technical document, I found the =
language=3D
perfectly fine.
I continued to boggle when the site owner continued by warning those =
offend=3D
ed (by what? VBA?) againnst emailing let they receive a salty reply. And =
to=3D
top it off the owner begs indulgence for Mr Hudson by saying he's an =

What on earth could offend Americans (I presume the site is American) so =
