I have having trouble with some numbered styles in a Word 2000 template.

It is not possible to restart a numbered list if it follows a previous numbered list or bulleted list. The option in the Bullets and Numbering box are grayed out.

I have tried deleting the styles and recreating them from scratch but nothing seems to help. Any one who can tell me why this is happening and how to fix it.
