A recipient of my resume (saved in *.doc format) has found that she
cannot print the file from the (probably latest XML-based) version of
Word on her computer. A newly created Word document prints fine and
Adobe Reader and various other applications all print fine, but not my
file. We tried saving to RTF, re-opening, and saving to *.doc again but
no dice. Has anybody come across this phenomenon? What's the cause and
what' the remedy?
I will try again and also send a PDF but this is bizarre.
Bizarre, indeed. I have not come across (nor heard of) that before, so I
don't know the cause nor the remedy. Does your file (saved in *.doc) print
from an earlier version of Word? You could send it to me to test on my
Windows machine (running MSWord 2000) if no one else can easily test it for
you.
Just to check: can this person *open* (view) your file in her version of
Word, but not *print* it? Or can she not even open it?
