atw: Re: [Fwd: Privacy and Placement/Recruitment agencies]

You can not discuss information about an individuals membership of an
organisation to a third party without that members written permission.
That's the law.
If the name of the individual is listed on the internet (with their
permission) you can discuss the fact they are a member.
Eg "Yes they are currently a member of this organisation."

If they are a committee member and that is listed publically you are
allowed to discuss the fact they are a committee member.
Eg: "Yes they are a member of this organisations committee."

If there is a title associated with the committee membership, like
'treasurer" you can discuss the fact they are a treasurer.
Eg: "They are currently the treasurer of this organisation."

The legislation certainly leaves you with a great deal you can discuss,
doesn't it :-).
Basically you cannot say anything without the individuals knowledge.

Regards everyone, hope you all have another perfect day in paradise!
Warren.
