Have you tried Nvu or Kompozer? -----Original Message----- From: austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:austechwriter-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Hedley Finger Sent: Tuesday, 26 August 2008 1:39 PM To: austechwriter@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: atw: Re: Free / open-source / shareware / really cheap webpage and website editor Swapnil: > Notepad++ seems to do a decent job of opening up and working on all kinds of > files used with websites - HTML, XML, PHP etc. Thanks for this tip. I have Notepad++, which is quite /intuitive/, if you know what I mean: no documentation and no help. But it is quite good and does syntax colouring well. Netbeans is also good and so is <oXygen/>. What I had in mind though (send the kiddies out of the room) was one of them WYSIWYG numbers that let you place buttons, tables, lists, and I don't know what-all by selecting them from a menu or palette, and then dropping them onto the canvas. You know, like Dreamweaver or Fireworks, but cheaper. If I stumble across something wonderful, I'll let the list know.
