Educated as always here. But I now pose the obvious ( to me ) question as to why musicians, I think originally in the USA in the 1950s (???) came to use the word gig. Boats and two wheeled carriages do not seem to connect somehow.

And a musoe joke for FRIDAY.....


What did the lottery winning trumpet player do when he won a million on the lottery? Carried on playing GIGS 'til the money ran out.
