atw: Re: FW: Phones and all that stuff - seriously off topic

In regards to naked broadband, I enthusiastically jumped on the
bandwagon the day iinet announced that it was available, 15th November.
In theory it is a great idea, if you don't require any other services
that require a landline, like VOIP (iinet do offer VOIP service with
naked DSL, but offer no guarantees of reliability), fax, remote alarm
systems...etc
It is not a problem with iinet, they are generally fantastic.
Telstra have to do some jiggery pokery at the exchange, and considering
they are most likely to lose revenue with Naked DSL, since you are now
not paying line rental, how enthusiastic do you think they are going to
be to provide this service?
The answer is that six weeks after signing up we are at attempt no 3 by
Telstra to connect the service with no resolution in sight...
The Telstra tech who was supposed to turn up 3 weeks ago never showed,
and apparently this has happened quite a lot.
They have promised that he will show tomorrow.
I still believe in Santa Claus as well.

Cheers, Mark
