Hi Mary,
Thanks for your kind welcome, but I should reveal that I am
not actually a newcomer, I have just changed the email
account I use.

In mailing to the list I found that my posts were being
interpreted as list commands, as well as being posted
correctly, a minor glitch somewhere. Since my emailing
system is a peculiar mix of UNIX mail handler and personal
scripts, when something goes wrong I always suspect it is a
problem at my end. In this case, Jean and Michael (both
contemporaries of mine) have reported the same odd
behaviour, so I am assuming that my system is ok.

Of course, Hardman's law applies here: If the software
works, it just means that there is an even number of
mistakes in it.
