Well done, Howard (S) and others. Some witty stuff.
The best error messages, however, are often the real ones.
My all time favorite came from Microsoft Word for Windows, direct to me.
It displayed when double clicking on an embedded ABC Flowcharter
graphic within a Word document, because the flow chart had been
created on remote server (on another in-house LAN) on which
Flowcharter was installed. Although Flowcharter was a company
standard at the time at this particular bank, a certain network
administrator refused to allow it to be installed on "his" LAN or on any of
the PCs connected to it.
So the resulting error message form Microsoft Word was...
(Dim the house lights. Queue the "Twilight Zone" theme music:)
"Word cannot edit: The Unknown"
(Capitalization as above. If I locate my screen capture of this, I shall
send it on to you.)
Cheers,
Michael Granat
