atw: Re: Dual-screen monitors

Hi Howard,

I use dual monitors at home and love them. At work I have just a single
large CRT screen dominating the desk. I much prefer the dual set up.
With two matched LCD screens there is only a small amount of the desk
used up too. I like that when I'm doing web work I can be looking at
HTML on one screen and graphics on the other, or HTML on one and a
browser on the other. Switching focus from one screen to another is
pretty quick to get used to. At work I'd use them again to limit
scrolling and resizing windows to get things on the screen at the same
time. Have a full screen Frame window and the Structure View on the
other screen. Or be working in Word and at the same time have reference
to an older version of PDF docs on the other screen.

Cost should no longer be a factor as you can get reasonable (for us tech
writers anyway) LCD monitors now for $400 or less and a reasonable
additional graphics card for $100 or less.
