Mary,
A software company I was working with recently uses StarTeam to control
the versions of their software document.
It seems to work well enough, and was fairly easy to learn. You can find
out more about this product at:

What is anyone using / recommending in terms of electronic or software
based document control these days? The small companies that I have
worked within the past have always pretty much done it using a manual
system - similar to the old library system and just stored electronic
versions in a restricted folder. What are the latest and great methods?
Software tracking aids etc?
MN Mary
