I've occasionally used them at work. It's especially good when there's someone else who can do the transcriptions, and especially useful when the SME says "I didn't say that" and you can play it back for them. OT deviation: I'd say the best use I ever made of one was when I bought a second hand car. The recordings came in very useful 10 weeks later when the engine blew up 7 km before warranty was due to expire. They helped save me about $9,000 in repairs, flights, accommodation and transportation. (The key factor in my winning the argument was, however, the pre-purchase vehicle check report.
