Certainly for screen shots there are several excellent tools, many of 
them freeware or shareware.

You might care to check "The Best-ever Freeware Utilities List" at 
http://www.techsupportalert.com/ and subscribe to their Gizmo 
newsletter, which gives you access to the extended list.
