atw: Re: Desktop publishing in Word

Hi Christine,

I don't think I've ever done this in Word, but I'd try Microsoft Publisher
(obviously not free though). We used to use it for our newsletters at the
last place I worked.  We never had the sorts of page issues you're citing;
however, I seem to recall it did deal with page "setup" / location a lot
more readily than Word. Unfortunately, it's pretty basic when it comes to
other fairly standard / useful things such as styles.

Regards,

Kate Macumber.

Does anyone know if there is an automatic way to make Word print the correct
pages for a pamphlet? I don't know the correct terms, but I want to be able
to put a few A4 pages together, fold them in half and staple them down the
middle. Which means that I need to print double sided, and print Page 1 and
Page 6 on the same side, page 2 and Page 5 on the same side and so on.

I have selected two pages per sheet and landscape which gives me page 3 and
page 4 in the correct relation to one another, but have failed to find any
function for the rest.

I seem to remember doing this years ago, but can't remember how we did it.

If there isn't a way, does anyone know a suitable freeware self-publishing
program?

Christine
